Our quick break in the US has come to a close. Today we’re en route to Zurich, making our way back to the little alpine dream-land in Austria.
The time at home was definitely jam-packed with visiting and working. I managed to shoe-horn in a couple of work trips that took me to the Olympic Peninsula and all the way south to Tucson. When I wasn’t flying in tin cans or strolling through airports, Chris and I were speed-visiting with family and friends all over Colorado.
The time at home was just the perfect pace of busy – the sweet spot for “being present.” I felt like I had to live in the moment as each day of our break passed. There really wasn’t time to dwell on the past or think too much about the future. I’m hoping to replicate this scenario in the future, no matter where we are. It seems exhausting, but for me, it’s just right. Like I always say, busy is good because it keeps me out of trouble.
I’m looking forward to the next few months in Europe – I’ll be working and riding hard. In actuality, I will only be on Sölden for half the time before we return to the US in mid September. I’ve got some serious travel throughout Europe planned – all adventures that should keep me living in the present.
First up is a guided mountain bike trip across the Czech Republic. The fun begins this Friday when I fly to Prague and meet up with a group of friends from Knoxville, Tennessee.
