The week before last we made a quick trip to Innsbruck to celebrate our 20th anniversary. Not surprisingly, we also took our bikes and sampled some of the fine trails, rideable directly from town.
Innsbruck has a number of trails scattered around, with some really good trails on the north side of the river. We ventured out to ride Arzler Alm trail – from my research it looked like a chance for some fun and flow in the trees. Along the way we found some great riding and plenty of delicious snacks. All in all, it was a classic day of mountain biking in the Alps.
Innsbruck is itself is very easy to like. It’s a small city of 130,000 people, surrounded by stunning mountains in all directions. The old town (altstadt) area is filled with plenty of food and interesting tourist sites. The Inn River is also very scenic and is a lovely place to explore the parks and neighborhoods that surround the city.
