Ready for some new adventures with the same old Kehmeiers?
Perfect. Mark your calendars for April 1 (no joke) because we’re headed to Southeast Asia to launch ourselves into a whole new era of bicycle travels.
I recently dug up our original Bicycle Geography blog and noted the date…2007. I can’t believe it’s been a decade since we quit our jobs, sold most of our belongings and rode our version of ’round the world.
Although we’re not planning on circling the globe again, we will find ourselves continent hopping. After pedaling around Vietnam and Cambodia, we’re headed to Europe later this spring to see what it’s like to live abroad.
Part of me feels pretty relaxed about the big changes while another part might be freaking out a little bit. But really, it’s another “chance of a lifetime” kinda deal so we’re going to wrap our arms around it and embrace the adventures ahead.
Our travels in 2007 and 2008 set us up for where we are now and I’m extremely grateful. It’s interesting to stop for a moment and look back on the decade in between. The traveling never stopped and our home base has been more of a temporary gear storage than a long-term, roots down affair. We may not have realized it, but we’ve been living the life we’ve imagined.
Thanks for tuning back in!
